Our Commitment to Victims


Safedrive Africa Foundation is dedicated to supporting people who have been affected by the grief and trauma of a road death or a serious injury or life changing injury collisions. Our services are available to family, friends and colleagues of the person who has been killed or injured as well as witnesses of fatal and life changing injury road collisions.


Our Program Focus

SDAF Emergency Response, traffic survivors Recovery and Road trauma Prevention programs assist communities directly affected by road traffic injuries (RTI) or conflict-driven disasters. SDAF helps communities recover from these disasters, assists in rebuilding their lives, and serves to increase their resiliency to future through immediate response and long-term road injuries trauma counseling projects.


Who do we help?

SDAF helps traffic victims in need, without discrimination. Much of work takes place in fragile and unstable contexts. SDAF adopts the humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence as the core foundations of our action.

SDAF relies on local expertise and constant communication with other actors to make sure that we are serving our Kenyan communities that need us most, and not just the easiest to reach. As a result, SDAF has many years of experience working with public, poor local communities, disabled persons, and marginalized groups.


The following sets out the commitment we make to those we support:

During a traffic crisis, SDAF recognizes that women and children are especially vulnerable to threats of road traffic violence, including gender-based violence, exploitation, and poverty. SDAF gives particular consideration to the unique personal needs of women, girls, boys, and men in all of our programs.
Our Service:

  • Is provided by SDAF committed team and Counselling Volunteers.
  • Is offered to all road traffic victims soon after the collision but can be requested at any point following the collision if not taken up immediately.
  • Is available for as long as it is useful and includes support in preparation for inquests or criminal court hearings and support on the day.

The Foundation offers:
  • Regular, weekly emotional and practical support for individuals and families in their home, at our office, or by telephone for as long as it is useful
  • Space to discuss the repercussions of the collision that is a life changing event for all those involved
  • Information on the investigation, inquest and court hearings and preparation and support for inquests and hearings
  • Space to express the whole range of feelings that come with the loss and horror following a serious road collision

  • For stronger community Africa Community, Safedrive Africa Foundation embraces the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) each year in collaboration National transport safety Authority (NTSA) local Authority, police force, Fire and rescue, emergency originations among other stake holders

The World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) is observed on the third Sunday of November each year by an increasing number of countries on every continent around the world.
